Before Your Visit
A little preparation goes a long way. Here's what you need to know before your appointment.
Bring Your Pregnancy Notes
Please bring your maternity notes or any relevant documentation from your midwife or GP.
Hydration for Early Scans
For scans under 20 weeks, please drink 1 litre of water 45 minutes before your appointment. A full bladder helps us get clearer images.
Wear Comfortable Clothing
We recommend loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your tummy. A two-piece outfit works best.
Arrive 10-15 Minutes Early
This allows time to complete any paperwork, use the facilities, and settle in before your scan begins.
During Your Visit
Here's a step-by-step guide to what happens when you arrive at our clinic.
Check-In & Paperwork
When you arrive, our friendly reception team will greet you and ask you to complete a consent form. This is a legal requirement in the UK and ensures we have your permission to perform the scan and use your personal details.
Relax in Our Waiting Area
Make yourself comfortable in our welcoming waiting area. Mum plus up to 7 guests are welcome to share this special moment with you.
Your Scan Experience
You'll be taken to our private scan room where you can recline comfortably. Our sonographer will apply warm gel to your tummy and use a handheld probe to capture images of your baby on our 90-inch projector screen and two 46-inch side TVs.
Viewing & Discussion
Watch your baby in real-time as our sonographer guides you through what you're seeing. Feel free to ask questions at any time. For 4D scans, you'll see your baby's movements and expressions in stunning detail.
Your Keepsakes
After your scan, you'll receive your printed photos and any digital images included in your package. These will be emailed to you within 24 hours.
Bring Your Loved Ones
We encourage you to share this special experience with your partner, family members, or friends. Our spacious scan room comfortably accommodates Mum plus up to 7 guests.
Everyone can watch the scan in real-time on our 90-inch projector screen and two 46-inch side TVs from comfortable seating. It's a wonderful opportunity for siblings, grandparents, or close friends to bond with your baby before they arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my baby is in an awkward position?
Sometimes babies aren't in the ideal position for scanning. Our sonographers are experienced in encouraging baby to move, and we may ask you to walk around or have a cold drink. If we still can't get good images, we offer a free rescan (Monday-Friday) at no extra charge.
Can I bring children to my appointment?
Yes, children are welcome! However, please note that young children may find it difficult to sit quietly during the scan. We recommend bringing another adult to supervise them if needed.
What if I need to reschedule?
We understand that plans change. If you're unwell or need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible and we'll rebook your appointment without losing your payment.
Do you have parking available?

Is the scan safe for my baby?
Yes, ultrasound scanning has been used safely in pregnancy for over 50 years. It uses sound waves, not radiation, and is completely safe for both you and your baby.
What if you find something concerning?
Our scans are designed for bonding and reassurance, not diagnostic purposes. If our sonographer notices anything that requires further investigation, we will advise you to contact your midwife or GP for follow-up with the NHS.
