The Earliest Way to Know
Our Early Gender Blood Test is a non-invasive DNA-based test that detects fetal Y-chromosome DNA in the mother's blood. If Y-chromosome DNA is present, you're expecting a boy. If absent, you're expecting a girl. The test is 99% accurate from just 7 weeks of pregnancy, well before any ultrasound can reliably show gender.
The procedure is simple: a single blood sample taken at our clinic in Gateshead. Your sample is sent to our UKAS-accredited UK laboratory for analysis. Results are delivered to you confidentially within 5-7 working days. You can have the blood test on its own, or pair it with the scan that's right for your stage of pregnancy — when you book, you'll be shown the option that matches how many weeks you are:

From 7 weeks of pregnancy. Before 7 weeks, fetal DNA in the mother's bloodstream is too low for reliable detection. From 7 weeks onwards, our test is 99% accurate.
During pregnancy, small fragments of your baby's DNA circulate in your bloodstream. Our test analyses a single blood sample for fetal Y-chromosome DNA. If Y-chromosome DNA is present, you're expecting a boy. If absent, you're expecting a girl. It's the same underlying technology used in our NIPT test, focused specifically on gender.
Yes, it's completely non-invasive. The test only requires a blood sample from the mother (similar to any routine blood test). There is no risk to the baby whatsoever, unlike older invasive tests like CVS or amniocentesis.

Both use the same underlying DNA technology, but our NIPT Test (from £280) is far more comprehensive: it screens for chromosomal conditions including Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), Trisomy 18, Trisomy 13 and (on higher tiers) sex-chromosome and microdeletion conditions, alongside optional gender reporting. The standalone Early Gender Blood Test (from £125) reports gender only. If you'd like full chromosomal screening, choose NIPT.
